Climbing Guayaba Trees and Slurping Flowers (by Charlie, Age 8)

At school they let you go wherever you want.  They have fields, trees, cotton plants, and boulders. It‘s so fun!

At recess I climb Guayaba and mango trees! The mangos are green in the rainy season. Sometimes they are red and orange and sometime yellow.

  If you want a fruit snack during big recess (that’s the longer recess after lunch) just climb a tree, pick one and wash it at an outside faucet.   There are also big red flowers that you pick.   You take off the stem and suck a honey liquid out of them.
