Lia Writes About The First Visitors (Nov-Dec 2014) - By Lia (age 6)

By...Liadan
[First...a Dad note --- after four months of "settling in" the kids were excited for the arrival of the first wave of visitors.  They liked being able to share a bit of their life in Costa Rica with folks from back home.  It's one thing to post a picture of the view, the cows next door, etc....it's another to see the reaction on the faces of visiting kids when they see it all for the first time.  It's one thing to write about how much they like their school and the free-range campus...it's another to see it through the eyes of your grandmother or your uncle and his girlfriend.  Read on for an update in Liadan's own words...she even typed this herself, which takes a looooong time and a lot of focus from a six year old!).   : ) ------------------------------- I’m back! It’s Lia and I’m writing again. I’m writing about the first visitors to come see us in Costa Rica.
The guest cabin on our property. The guest cabin on our property.
First came the Adams family (not the ones from the movie with the monster people – this was my dad’s friend and his family came to see us). We went to Monte de La Cruz, ate ice cream and walked played. It was fun!

Next Granna came! We put popcorn and cranberries on strings for the Christmas tree. We went to dinner. Granna got to pick us up at school. We had fun!

Then Uncle Patrick and Christi came. We watched Uncle Patrick run the marathon in the city. It was cool! The big stadium was pretty cool. Uncle Patrick and Christi got to see my school, too. They came to pick me up at art club.

DSCF1265 (dad caption) At the start...Uncle Patrick is in there somewhere!
DSCF1273 (dad caption) Uncle Patrick finishing lap one of three. It was a CRAZY hilly course. Christi and I found a restaurant with big windows looking right out on the course. A nice spectator experience (drink a beer and eat some pizza...walk and out and cheer...repeat until lap three...at which point we met up with the family and went to the stadium for the finish).

DSCF1290 (dad caption) a very cool moment for the kids to see. Patrick came into the stadium and this guy in front of him was DONE. he had stopped and was barely moving. Patrick stopped as he passed him and encouraged him to finish with him. Classy move!

It was fun to have visitors. I cant wait for more.  And I'm going to write another blog soon!
