Our first time in Guatemala. A very special trip.

-Watching Charlie looking out the window on the airplane as we begin our descent into Guatemala City. Memories come back of a four and a half month old Charlie on an airplane from Guatemala City to Boston. He was a curious easygoing baby during that initial seven hour flight. He continues to be curious and easygoing - as well as a born traveler. Possibly going back to his early days on the move...

-After a very long, but amazing day at Tikal (exploring the awe-inducing Mayan ruins)...in the midst of sporadic torrential downpours, we had a bumpy hour long drive back to the airport. Ella ended up falling asleep on my lap in the back of the large van. She was so tired that she slept like a baby - arms outstretched and fingers curled up. Watching her brought me right back to Ella as a baby. Our champion sleeper! How did she end up as our full of life 10 year old; our lady of surprises?!
